  • Why do you need a termite inspection?

Many home lenders require it, so they can be sure there are no active termite infestations in any home they finance.

  • How long does the inspection take? What's involved?

Usually, it takes less than an hour, A skilled, experienced technician will check the entire house thoroughly, from foundation to roof. He knows exactly where to look for telltale signs of the presence of termites or other wood-destroying insects, and any damage.

  • What if no evidence of termites is found?

You will receive written notification stating that no visible evidences of infestation have been found in the accessible areas that were checked.

  • Termites won't attack a new house, will they?

Unfortunately, they have been known to, sometimes within days of completion.

  • Are there other wood-destroying insects besides termites?

Yes. Besides the most common termite, the subterranean, there are other species of termites - as well as wood-destroying beetles, carpenter ants, and carpenter bees.

  • What if there already is extensive damage?

If the damage threatens the soundness or appearance of the structure, it must be repaired. This is a specialized type of work, but your pest control representative will be familiar with it and can help you arrange for repairs.

  • What chemicals are used to control termites?

There are a lot of termite and ant control products available today. We use Termidor® termiticide-insecticide, which utilizes non-repellent chemical technology.

  • Will my family have to vacate the house?

Only if it is necessary to treat for drywood termites. Subterranean termites can be controlled while the house is occupied. Again, your pest control professional will carefully explain whatever procedures are necessary.

  • Why does Accura Pest Control use Termidor® products?

Termidor® is equally effective in keeping termites away. Ongoing field trials by the United States Department of Agriculture-Forest Service show no signs of termite damage in the covered slab plots treated with Termidor® WG at labeled rates for more than 14 years after treatment.

Termidor® is made from a revolutionary non-repellent, or undetectable, chemical technology. In numerous trials across the United States and around the world, Termidor® has consistently proven to be the fastest and most effective at eliminating termites in and around structures.
